All about From Business to Buttons here!
One of the From Business to Buttons 2017 speakers – Alan Cooper – has recieved another award that shows his great contribution to the industry. He has been appointed as a Fellow of the Computer History Museum in California!
Cooper gets the award with the motivation: ”For his invention of the Visual BASIC programming language and development environment, and for work on human interface design”.
The Computer History Museum Fellow Awards honor ”distinguished technology leaders who have forever changed the world with their accomplishments” and started doing so 1987. The first to become fellow was the programming pioneer Grace Murray Hopper. Linus Torvalds, Steve Wozniak (who spoke at the From Business to Buttons 2015 conference) and Jean Sammet are some of the 60 persons who has got this prestigious award throughout the years. This year, apart from Alan Cooper, Margaret Hamilton, Cleve Moler and Larry Roberts also got the award.
The 2017 Fellow Award Ceremony takes place Friday, April 28, at the Computer History Museum in California – which sadly means that Mr Cooper can't come to From Business to Buttons in person – instead he will be with us via a live video link to give his talk. He is very excited both for the award and to still share his knowledge with us all at the conference.
